A few days ago, I wrote this artcle about the sudden 10-day closure of the Sunspot Observatory near Roswell, New Mexico. I speculated that it may have something to do with one of several nearby military facilities -- but it seems the reason for the closure may be more mundane, perhaps mundane enough to warrant the flying-in of military helicopters...

Bow-wow! It’s time to reconsider if Pluto’s a planet!

By now, most of us know that Pluto had it's status as a planet stolen from it and replaced with "Dwarf Planet". Personally, I don't take issue with referring to a really small planet as a Dwarf Planet -- after all, there's nothing wrong with classifying planets! But if it's not a planet, why the heck are we calling it a Dwarf Planet?
